MaxBounty CPA Network Reviews

MaxBounty is another of my favorite CPA networks. When I first signed up for MaxBounty I wasn’t so sure. Their interface looked kind of dated and I assumed that maybe they were a second-tier level CPA network. I was wrong. They have a lot of offers in a variety of niches. Their payouts are competitive and I’ve been able to get the payouts bumped up after I’ve produced a bit of volume. If you’re serious about CPA marketing you owe it to yourself to add MaxBounty to your arsenal.

PAYOUTS

Payouts tend to be higher at MaxBounty than at some of the larger, more famous networks. I’ve generally been able to get my payouts bumped up once I produce some volume on an offer.

OFFERS

MaxBounty has a lot of CPA offers, around 500 at last check. They range from simple zip and email submits to higher payout health and beauty offers. They offers tend to pay as good as and sometimes a little better than some of the larger and more famous networks and they can usually bump up your payout once you show some volume.

The one complaint I have is with their graphic and/or landing pages. In a word – amateur. This is not the case for all offers but enough for it to be quite noticeable. If a banner doesn’t look good then it’s usually going to get clicked on less than a better looking one. I was running an offer recently and the faces of the people on the creatives were blurry and pixelated. That’s not good.

The same applies to landing pages. If a landing page doesn’t look reputable then less people will complete the offer. Some of the landing pages just don’t look professional and/or they aren’t laid out in a way that will maximize conversion. They really need to get a new design team.

SCRUBBING

In my experience MaxBounty has a low scrub rate. I’ve split tested the same offer with MaxBounty and with other networks and generally find that I have more conversions with MaxBounty. Even if another network has a higher payout, if they have a high scrub rate you’ll usually end up making more in the end with a network like Max Bounty that doesn’t scrub your leads.

AFFILIATE MANAGER / COMMUNICATION

I have a pretty good affiliate manager. He sends me notices of new offers he thinks I might be interested in or ones that are similar to what I’m already promoting. He’s always been pretty responsive and has generally responded on the same day that I contact him.

THE INTERFACE

As I mentioned, their interface isn’t flashy but it does everything it needs to do.

Searching for offers is pretty easy. You can search by keyword, category, country which are all pretty standard. They also have a couple of other options that are pretty unique. You can also search by offers that allow search (PPC) and/or incentivized. The name of the offer, payout, start date, and EPC are all shown on the main search.

One thing that’s missing is a direct link to see the landing page. This is a great feature that some networks have. It saves you from having to click into the offer and then on the landing page link. It’s a fairly minor thing but it’s one that saves a you lot of time.

REPORTING

Reports are pretty easy and are fast. It’s also easy to get subid reports and download them into a CSV file. You can only choose reports by entering the exact date or date range which is a small gripe of mine. It would be nice to have a pulldown with “today”, “yesterday”, “this month”, etc. That would save a bit of time.

PAYMENTS

Payouts are net 15 which is pretty standard. You can be paid by check, automatic bank deposit or paypal.

NON-US OFFERS

Not bad. As of today…

  • UK – 70
  • Canada – 61
  • Australia – 41
  • Germany – 23
  • Kyrgyzstan – 11

MaxBounty passes the Kyrgyzstan test!

PROS

  • good payouts
  • low scrubbing
  • good communication
  • good report and offer search interface
  • net 15 payments
  • lots of offers (500 or so at last check)
  • allows incentivized traffic
  • allows iframes

CONS

  • (minor) no link to landing page from offer search interface
  • landing pages and creatives are often not so good

OTHER COMMENTS

MaxBounty seems to be pretty good in regards to scrubbing. I don’t get the feeling (and the numbers don’t show) that there’s a lot of scrubbing going on.

One thing that I have mixed feeling about is what they call “MaxBounty Mail”. They send you notices about payout changes and campaign cancellations in this mailbox which is within your account. It’s something that I usually forget about and so I miss a lot of messages. They do send you a reminder to your real email address every so often that you have x number of Max Bounty emails to read. That at least reminds me to check it, but it would be better in my opinion to send you messages about offers payouts and cancellations to your real email address instead of one you have to log into your Max Bounty account to check. On the positive side, I guess this ensures delivery and you can’t tell them you didn’t know about something if it’s in your Max Bounty mailbox.

Overall MaxBounty is one of my favorite CPA networks. They offer good payouts, don’t scrub much, and have a lot of offers to choose from. MaxBounty is definitely a network that you should work with. You can sign up for MaxBounty here.

Hello everyone. I am writing this to let everyone know that MaxBounty is the #1 affiliate network that I have EVER worked with. Every question I’ve ever had has been answered within 1 day, and your affiliate manager is just about always available for you. They also have the HIGHEST payouts i have ever seen. All of my payments have been on time, and they have great selection of offers to promote. And I mean a GREAT selection.

MaxBounty is very unprofessional (see for yourself here — http://www.wickedfire.com/shooting-shit/89662-fun-chinese-applicant.html)

I had applied with them in the past, got approved and later they had claimed that I had fraudulent activity on my account. I didn’t understand this one as I’ve been in the business for 5 years.

The site that they claimed to have fraudulent activity on later sold for a very high five figure sale. Go figure out that one.

There are so many better sites out there that offer offers comparable to theirs. Again, very unprofessional!

Yeah Bill, I agree that was unprofessional and mean. Unless he had some knowledge that the applicant was in fact a scammer that is. Several aff managers from different networks have told me that almost 100% of applicants from China are scammers, so if that’s the case then I guess they were just turning the tables on them.

Obviously I have no way to know anything about your site and any fraudulent activity. Even if you have a reputable site the people clicking the links and doing the offers might not be reputable so it’s entirely possible that the traffic was fraudulent.

Like I said in my review…MaxBounty is one of my favorite networks and I’ve never had a bit of problems with them.

Does anyone know how long it usually takes for max bounty to get back to you after you have signed up? It’s been one day. Also, is your account working right after you sign up? Mines not.

    Hey Scott,
I wouldn’t expect to get a response within a day if you just signed up online. They’re probably gonna call you and check you out before approving you, so even if your login works, you probably can’t do anything with it.

IMHO, it’s much better to be proactive and CALL THEM before you sign up.

I usually ask around and get a recommendation for who to talk to at a network I want to sign up with (such as a good aff mgr) and then I call them directly on the phone and tell them they came “highly recommended” to me by so and so. That usually makes them feel good and breaks the ice. Then after a little chit chat, telling them what offers I like and how much money I make, I ask them how to sign up. They usually green-light the whole thing and get me approved within about 10 minutes. :)

That’s how I do it. Make a human connection and you’ll be better off than if you’re just another dude who emails them.

    Good luck!
    Brad

Hi I’m a newbie – and was interested to read your reviews as this is an area that has just been revealed to me – yeah I know dark ages! Just a quick question – how are these cpa companies with newbies – are they likely to approve or do you need some experience and track record? Just thought I’d ask rather than waste their time and mine.

Thanks for taking time to read this and for putting your information in such a readable and understandable format – man there’s some confusing garbage out there.

    Hey Caroline,

It seems like you’re asking about CPA networks in general and not specifically about maxbounty.

From my experience this varies greatly with the network and also by the affiliate manager. Some networks flat out don’t want to work with newbies while others don’t seem to care one way or the other and some others seems to go after newbies specifically. (So they can screw them easier some would say.)

Some affiliate managers won’t give you the time of day unless you’re bringing in big bucks, some are just lame in general and some are very helpful. Whenever I’ve had a lame affiliate manager I’ve just called in and requested a new one.

In general though most networks have tightened up their requirements because there is just so much fraud in the business. That might be a bigger obstacle than whether or not you’re a newbie.

If you’re a total newbie, then first learn the lingo so you can talk intelligently with the networks. Then call then up and ask to sign up. Sometimes it helps to ask around and find out which affiliate managers other people are happy with and then call them up. Tell them they come highly recommended and that you heard they’re great (butter them up.) That will sometimes get you the “in” you need. That or get a friend that you meet on a forum or somewhere to give you a recommendation.

Of my 3 current favorite networks you’d probably have the easiest time signing up with maxbounty. #2 would be neverblue, and #3 hydra/adknowledge. If you sign up through the links on my review pages then they know you come recommended from someone already in their network and that can help you get in too. (Full disclosure…if you sign up through my links, the networks may pay me a commission.)

    Best of luck to you!
    Brad
